Local MP Simon Hart has welcomed a decision by the Chancellor to waive VAT on fuel for the Wales Air Ambulance.
Welsh Conservatives have campaigned for years for the tax to be lifted on air ambulance emergency services.
George Osborne announced that all air ambulance charities will be eligible for an annual grant of £65,000 for the next five years to cover the cost of VAT on fuel costs, following a review by HMRC.
Mr Hart said: "This is great news for the Wales Air Ambulance, it provides an invaluable service in rural west Wales and will continue to save lives, as they have done many times before.
"The UK Government's decision to waive VAT on fuel makes perfect sense and I hope this will further ease financial pressures.
