More than 150 jobseekers and 30 employers attended the Pembrokeshire Jobs Fair organised by Simon Hart MP on Monday.

This is the second event of its kind organised by the local MP and many jobseekers left the Pembroke Town Hall event with interview dates in their diaries.

Once again, employers were impressed by the quality of those looking for work.

"One company said that what really struck them was the calibre of the people coming to their stand," said Mr Hart, "they were getting people with good qualifications and experience. They were so impressed by one person they plan to create a job in order to take one of them on."

"I am thrilled with the number of companies and organisations which supported us and heard of a number of people going away with interviews and placements organised."

Paul Garnish, Sales Manager from Sinclair Garages, said: "We have had quite a few people we are interested in, we have four vacancies and we have taken the details today of about 25 people who we are interested in interviewing."

Jobseeker Victoria Wells from Llandissilio said: "The Fair was worth coming to, there's a good amount of different companies here. I left my CV and am going to get a call about an interview."

The companies that attended included Bluestone, Folly Farm, St Brides Spa Hotel, Dyfed-Powys Police, Mainport, Ocon Fire and Security and The Moorings Restaurant.

Mr Hart added: "I am confident that jobs were found today which means that it was very worthwhile. I will be organising another event in Carmarthen in October and the Pembrokeshire fair is an annual event now."
