Simon Hart MP joined volunteers of Pembrokeshire'S newest foodbank for coffee at Liberty Café, Grace Court House in Narberth.
Simon was shown the foodbank storeroom and given a briefing on the work of the new charity.
Senior minister of Grace Church, Paul Dando, who was also present, explained "Grace Church reaches out to the community in three ways:- as well as running Liberty Café here in the Courthouse, we produce Breeze magazine, and now, we are delighted to be launching Pembrokeshire foodbank".
Simon Hart MP was keen to show his support and interest as to how this new foodbank will effect local people.
He said: "It was a fascinating visit and Grace Church is doing a wonderful work to support the community in so many ways."
Tirzah Redman (Pembrokeshire foodbank Manager) explained that the main distribution centre will be Grace Court House inNarberth, but other satellite foodbanks will open in the New Year.
The first will be St. Giles Church Centre in Letterston and shortly afterwards, another will open in Haverfordwest.
Tirzah added "It is envisaged that there will be opportunity for food to be collected somewhere in Pembrokeshire every day of the week".
